High-Performance Transaction Processing

The program for the Workshop on High-Performance Transaction Processing has been released. This workshop is very special in that the participants are mainly top architects and technology strategists from the big enterprise software corporations who come together in a secluded setting to discuss the hot topics in enterpsie computing. The discussions at this workshop are often very polemic and extremely intense. It is fun to see that I am one of the few academic speakers, together with David Patterson (UCB)  and Miron Livny (UWisc).

The topics center around the important issues in enterprise computing for the coming 5 years. And there are interesting showdowns planned: for example Adam Bosworth (BEA) versus Dieter Gatwick (Oracle) on Application Servers versus Databases as the best enterprise platform. The setting, the conference center in Asilomar, is perfect for these kinds of up close and personal encounters.
