Academic theory goes main stream

For the second time in a week main stream press picks up on research results by Cornell faculty. Where last week its were Tim Roughgarden and Eva Tardos who got the spotlight for their work on the effects of selfish routing (details on Tim's homepage), today it is Jon Kleinberg's turn on slashdot and the New Scientist. They report on his work on identifying hot trends by monitoring word bursts on weblogs.
